MEET THE AUTHOR

Hi, y'all!

I'm Heather, and this is my blog, "Stringtown Home".  Stringtown is the farming community that I was raised in.... and, it resonates, "HOME".  I decided to start blogging when I quit my corporate banking job to come home to stay with my daughter.

I began working at home, making crafts, wreaths, etc., and selling them to supplement our income.   I decided to start Stringtown Home, as an outlet to showcase those items.  Since then, it's grown into more than that... I do still show the things that I make, but I also love to share recipes, parties, daily life, and more.

I am newly single, and life is hard.
I'm learning to do things in my home that go beyond hanging curtains and choosing a wall color.
I've learned to patch leaky pipes, light pilot lights, and army crawl under a pier and beam house.

Thankfully I have my little cheer leader, and my sweet Mama and Daddy to help me along.

My 5 year old is the biggest miracle that I've ever experienced.

If you've read my blog for very long you'll know that she had a scary entrance into the world... first, they didn't expect her to live, then they didn't expect her to ever be able to function on her own...

She had a perinatal stroke sometime within the first few hours before or after birth.  She has defied every odd placed against her - or should I say, GOD has HEALED her!

I am so thankful for this sweet girl, and she's the smartest, silliest, most wonderful gift!

When I am not in the classroom teaching,
she and I spend a lot of time together baking, going to the zoo, park, shopping, etc... We are two peas in pod, I tell ya, and I am having the time of my life, just being her mommy.  You can catch glimpses of our fun times on the blog, here, or by following Stringtown Home on Instagram, Facebook, or Twitter.... You can also see what I am dreaming of doing by following on Pinterest....

Our life has changed drastically in the few short years I've been blogging, but we are learning to persevere.... to pick our heads up, and make beauty from ashes.

I'm so thankful that you've stopped by to read a little of what is going on in our world.

Though it may seem small to you, the thought that you care to check in on us means the world to us!

If you would like to contact me directly, you can do so at stringtownhome@hotmail.com.
